Jerwood Gallery approved

Last night Hastings borough council planning commitee passed the Jerwood Gallery proposal, The gallery will be built at Stade the coach park  – details for the council website hereThe Jerwood Foundation has a substantial collection of 20th and 21st century British art never shown to the public.  It will build a £4m gallery to house the collection and to show temporary exhibitions as part of the Jerwood Visual Arts programme.  The Jerwood Foundation sees the arts as part of education and approval from the council means a public facility that will benefit local communities and enable access to art and culture of the highest quality.
